The Search for Pulsars in Milky Way Satellite Galaxies with FAST

Ralph Eatough

Pulsars in the relatively nearby satellite dwarf galaxies – along different sight lines through the Milky Way — could be used, amongst other things, to create the first 3-dimensional free electron density map of the Milky Way’s hot gas halo. With the advent of FAST, detecting pulsars at the distances of the satellite galaxies is a real possibility. In this talk, we describe the status of pulsar search observations on the satellite galaxies, with a focus on Bootes-III.
