Detecting Strangeon Nuggets with Acoustic Messenger
Qi, Haoyang
Straneon nuggets is made of strangeons. Strangeon is a kind of quasi hadron that consist of equal-quantity up, down and strange quarks. They may originated in the early universe, supernova, pulsar merger event, and so on, and they may be stable when their mass is big enough. So they may exists in compact stars, or exists in small strangeon nuggets which are one of the components of dark matter. This paper theoretically considers a new method, acoustic analysis, to detect strangeon nuggets which impact onto earth or moon. The calculating results show that impact signal from a strangeon nugget can be detected at a few kilometers away from the trajectory of the nugget, because of the magnetic field as strong as 10^12 G of a strangeon nugget. Using common microphones, hydrophones or seismographs to construct acoustic detecting arrays in the desert, ocean or on the moon, signals from strangeon nuggets impact can be captured.
