FRB 20180301A – A special repeating source being understood?

Luo, Rui

Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) are enigmatic short-duration radio flashes in the universe. According to the repetition of some FRB sources, we can study their various and intriguing properties directly through monitoring observations with sensitive radio telescopes. In this talk, I will start by reviewing the discoveries of FRB repeaters briefly. Then I will talk about the previous studies on the special repeater – FRB 20180301A, including its first discovery, diverse polarization features and precise localisation. After that, I will present the latest observational results from our long-term monitoring programme with the Parkes Ultrawideband Lower (UWL) receiver, in particular, its secular evolution of dynamic environment has been revealed. This source still exhibits complex spectro-polarimetric characteristics and even the exotic depolarization process is observed. In the end, the key findings will be summarized and concluded.
